This is a time of many firsts for me. For the last five years, I’ve kept my head down, laid low, and applied myself wholeheartedly to two large projects.

The first project is to working alongside my clients to transform their homes together. It takes some elbow grease, but my clients feel a weight off after every session, and are so satisfied and happy in the end. For me, it’s an absolute honor to work with each client and be invited into their homes and lives, and it is a dream job.

The second project is reading and researching, experimenting with different methods, and then writing manuscripts for future books about how to make your home to feel optimal. Although there are many elements that lead to making a home feel amazing, much of what I write about is centric to decluttering, because clutter is a controllable culprit. I also write about important elements that influence a home, such as cleanliness (and hacks!), plants, colors, and design and decor. Another element that is important has to do with us as people… so I write about balance, productivity, wellness and self-care, because the people who live in each home influence the feeling in their spaces through their internal states.

The two projects go hand-in-hand, and each client and home has provided me more experience and content and data for my manuscripts. I treated both as full time jobs, but when you do what you love and are passionate about, it doesn’t feel so much like work. I really enjoyed being behind the scenes, or one-on-on. This is partially why I always wanted to be a writer, because I pictured myself hidden from the world behind a desk, but still with a voice.

However times have changed, and this is a time of the internet, self-publishing opportunities, and social media. This is a time where expertise, knowledge, and research can have a far reaching scope if you enter into the online world.

My family and clients have been encouraging me to have a social media presence for years. However, by default, I have not engaged in social media for about five years. I have been so engaged in the tangible aspects of my life- working with clients and writing, and in my free time reading books, cooking, and surfing. It was exactly as I wanted it to be. I really enjoyed this period and what I was able to accomplish.

But now, I am starting to sit on top of several manuscripts, and it’s time to start honing drafts, publishing them, and getting my information out there to people who could use it. My dad has read all of my manuscripts as I finish my drafts, and he tells me that it’s excellent content, but won’t help anyone while it sits in a drawer. He’s right.

I will self-publish my first manuscripts this year 🙌. The first will be a children’s book on water safety that is near and dear to my heart. It is called “Water, My Friend”, and will be released on April 30, 2022. I am blessed to work with an amazing illustrator named Natalia that is bringing this book to life in an even better way than I could’ve imagined!

Then I will publish a ten-part guidebook series on ‘How To Have Good Vibes In Your Home’. The title may change, but it describes the series perfectly, so perhaps it will stay. The first book will be on decluttering (to be released on August 30, 2022), the second book will be on cleaning (to be released on November 30, 2022), and the third book will be on plants (to be released on January 30, 2022). Each book is already written, but the perfectionist in me will no doubt revise the drafts over and over, adding and editing. I want it to be awesome and super useful by the time it reaches you.

This home guidebook series is basically ten years worth of research, trial and error, and experience in a series 📚 🙌 🙌

So in closing, how I said that this is a time of many firsts for me… I’ve decided to move from writing to producing and publishing 😃 I’ve started this website and weekly blog to showcase myself as an author and resource. And I started a channel on Youtube and TikTok under the pseudonym LifeAsIWrite. I think that this will be a fun new adventure, and I hope that I can be a useful resource and a well of information to at least one person out there!

Lol, how do I end a blog post? With a sincere thank you for reading through this, and perhaps signing off with a quote, which I might end up doing every time 😊 Maybe you know of this one:

“As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.” -Rumi
